Remote Area Medical Intern

I participated in an internship with Remote Area Medical this summer to learn about health disparities, rural health, and social barriers in medicine. Working with the communications team, I conducted patient interviews to understand their struggles in accessing healthcare, collected research from 500 Cities Projects and other public health databases to create community background reports, and designed infographics to highlight RAM's mission and prominent health problems in the U.S. I volunteered at 4 RAM clinics throughout different locations in the U.S. and worked in the vision lab to create glasses on-site for underserved and uninsured patients.
