Social Services Intern

My internship this summer was in partnership with the Shepherd Higher Education Consortium on Poverty (SHECP). I worked as an intern with Miriam's Kitchen, a nonprofit low barrier social services agency in downtown Washington, D.C. I served as a case manager on the social services team, which meant that I interacted with guests experiencing homelessness face-to-face every day to connect them with needed services and resources as part of Miriam's Kitchen's larger goal to end chronic homelessness in D.C.
