Title IX Intern

Title

Title IX Intern

Description

During Centreterm I worked in the Title IX office to aid in programming efforts focused on student health on campus. Over the course of the internship, I was able to better understand the role of the Title IX office at Centre, as well as how I could contribute to the work with my skills as a STEM student. Looking forward, I have built a foundation that has prepared me to apply my analytical skills in helping complex problems that aren't scientific but are still important.

James,

I am not at all surprised that one of my favorite STEM students structured his internship presentation by office description, role, and objectives. :) That just makes me happy.I hope your first official internship in the Title IX Office felt more like a prodigal return to you, because it certainly did to me!I know that the grand unveiling of some of your projects is forthcoming, and I also recognize that many of your projects weren't neatly wrapped up with a little bow. That is the true nature of institutional change work, and I hope you are still very proud of what you accomplished.  You brought patience, nuance, and maturity to projects that are "messy" for even the most seasoned professionals.  Even if you can't always point to a final product and say, "that!  I did that!", I hope you take pride in the process.  Your attention to detail, ethical lens, and focus on outcomes is what will make them a success long-term.I know your campus programming announcements will make a HUGE difference for student organizations, and your work on Instagram analytics will help us reach more people with critical health education!I am proud of what you accomplished in your internship, and even more proud of all the ways you've led, championed, evolved, and listened since you walked into my office as a wee sophomore.  We're always doing it for James!Sarah

As always, thank you for the passion, focus, and action that you continue to bring to this work, James! I'm so amazed by your control of technology and policy. Rock on.
