Centre College Title IX Intern

Title

Centre College Title IX Intern

Description

I worked as an intern for the Office of Title IX where I focused on the primary side of sexual violence prevention. I co-developed a variety of social media health education campaigns aimed at addressing the social norms and beliefs that contribute to sexual violence. I helped create the content, caption, and graphics for these campaigns and coordinated events and resources for Sexual Awareness and Prevention Month in April.

Thank you so much for your work this Centre Term, Lorena! Your commitment to creating prevention education and developing strong partnerships for SAAPM is remarkable! Let's Talk Pleasure is a project that seemed unimaginable when I started my first year at Centre, and I am totally impressed by your vision & execution of it.

Holy moly, Lorena!! You did an excellent job explaining the public health components of your work--like risk and protective factors, levels of intervention, social norms work, and health education.  I could listen to you talk about primary prevention all day.

I am so grateful for the resources you provided to students and the values you bring to sexual violence prevention work at Centre.  You have championed our FIRST EVER sexual health promotion program with such thoughtfulness, careful benchmarking, and a wisdom for what is practical and feasible.I can't wait until you get to take off running with Let's Talk Pleasure.  I am so excited to watch the projects you invested in continue to grow and grow during your time at Centre and beyond.  I only wish you had enough time to talk about the many different projects you worked on... everything from FYC feedback to advertising Title IX's prevention workshops!  You do it ALL and have the versatility to prove it.  I am so proud of you.
